Tips For Fighting Slices On A Practice Range
slow play on the golf course is caused often by golfer who has majors slices, as he or she acquires bad practice. Or it's the result of the golfer never having been educated proper golf course manners. this means a slow golfer aggravates the relation with his friends but also the foursome that follows him. So what should you do to improve your slices? Let me give you a free tip.
Like I always said in my previous articles, practice is I believe, the most important factor between someone who will succeed and the one who will fail. A driving range usually is 3 times the width and even larger sometimes than a regular fairway. So golfer really doesnt care if he miss the ball, as he knows it will stay in the driving range, but he forgets that it will be a slice on a real course. I will give you a little trick that you can practice on a driving range which will help you reducing your slice. But you must be patient and practice, otherwise it wont work.
first, when you are ready to hit your ball, you will take a complete new set up. You will calculate the normal distance you usually take, when you putt your driver on the ground, and ready to tee off. Then, you will close both legs to make sure that both shoes touch together. not even one inch will separate theses shoes. Subsequently, you will hit your shot at half speed swing, meaning that, if you hit 80 miles per hour, you will hit around 40 miles per hour, like if you were using a wedge for approach. The first reaction you will have is that it will be very hard to keep your balance while you will be on your down swing.
However you will notice that your ball will travel more that 100 yards straight in the fairway. Why? Simply because your body is all shrink and you worry falling on the ground. Therefore, your mind is concentrate only at that particular problem, and you forget all the mistakes, about your shoulders and your hands. Once you will hit 5-10 balls, increase distance between your shoes by 2 inches at the time, and restart the same procedure. More you will increase distance in between and more you will feel confident on the ground and realize that, more distance you want to achieve, more mistakes, you will make with your shoulders, and your hands. A good practice on a driving range is to increase speed with your driver slowly to normal and to determine what is causing your slice, either your hands or your shoulders on your down swing.
I hope this will help you reducing your slices, and if you asked yourself I am normal golfer? Just remember that you are part of the 80 % of the golfers around the world that slices and slowly, you will transfer to the 20 % remaining golfers.
Enjoy your golf game.

The Console War Three Decades and Counting
With the recent release of Microsofts Xbox 360 and the upcoming releases of Sonys ps3 and Nintendos Wii, gamers a like are becoming more aware of the fierce competition and tactics used by these three major players of the video gaming industry.
It all began in 1972 with a unit you may remember Magnavox Odyssey. While Magnavoxs efforts were short lived, they are still remembered to play a heavy role in the establishment of the home-based video game console. Of course Atari was next in line with a new and back then evolutionary game PONG. As simplistic as the game was, it was loved by consumers worldwide and helped launch Ataris name into the big books.
The newly created gaming industry was gaining strength and the general consumers interest. However as 10 years passed the video gaming industry was about to crash. In 1983, consumers criticized the lack of quality console games with the emergence of home-based computers, gamers began to lose faith in the console. Breaking the silence in late 1983, nintendo introduced the Famicon (Nintendo Entertainment System). With the release of the Famicon came the birth of Super Mario Bros. a signatory series to the nintendo brand.
Nintendos dominance was challenged by sega who entered the market with their Master system. Despite Segas efforts, their Master system barely captured any market share and made little profit. The company refused to face defeat and soon there after released the Mega Drive/ Genisis in 1988, two years before Nintendos release of the Super Nintendo (SNES).
Moving along, the video gaming world became divided into the 32-bit vs. 64-bit machines. The first wave of systems that entered the market was the 3DO and Ataris Jaguar. While both systems were powerful for their time, neither was able to outperform sega or nintendo who both dominated the market until 1994. On December 3 1994, Sony launched its Playstation system and enjoyed a successful launch. nintendo followed 2 years later with their 64-bit offering, the nintendo 64. Even at this stage nintendo made the controversial decision of releasing a cartridge based system arguing that it would reduce load times and minimize piracy.
sega fought back one last time in 1998, releasing the dreamcast. While Segas efforts were strong, the company failed to make ends meet when Sony released the successor to their first console the ps2 (in 2000). In 2001 nintendo released its gamecube targeting a younger market. Both companies had established their own brands and proved themselves to the gaming community. Sonys system was challenged in 2001 when microsoft entered the arena with their xbox.
We are currently in a new generation of console gaming. While Xbox 360 is currently available the ps3 and Wii are due to release later this year. Previously, Sony dominated in market share, however this is forecast to change with the new generation of gaming. More than ever it is critical to offer the greatest innovation, greatest power and most of all the greatest games.
So who will dominate the market this generation? This is difficult to answer, however as a gaming enthusiast, I strongly believe that competition between the three companies ultimately means better games for you the gamer.

Second Limb of Yoga - The Second Niyama - Santosha
santosha, the second observance, is contentment or happiness. What is the largest obstacle to contentment? Why is happiness so illusive for so many people? Lets look closely at this very important niyama.
To some people, happiness is a fantasy. This type of thinking is what makes contentment so hard for some of us to find. You must first see the illusion of life: everything that brings true contentment is right in front of us. Our family, friends, spouse, health, skills, and knowledge, are all close at hand.
Yet, we want glitz, material, shallow relationships, power, riches, and fame. In life, true contentment or gratification, must have a purpose. When we find our true, and noble, purpose (Dharma) in life, we are filled with gratification.
Our true purpose, in life, can be felt from within our heart. Natural or God given skills will often open doors to our true destiny. Skills and practical application are a powerful combination.
All the riches, in the world, have no purpose, if we do not put them to good use by helping others. If we constantly spend money on toys, we will still be unhappy, until the next new toy is invented. The temporary feeling of contentment evaporates again, because this is just superficial happiness.
This is the continuing cycle of unhappiness we can easily observe in some of the rich and famous. The more material a person acquires, the more frustrated he or she becomes with life. complete contentment is free for anyone to choose, but you cannot buy it.
Money and power are not evil. Both can be used to fuel worthy causes, feed the hungry, cure disease, stop violence, and save the planet. Worthy causes breed true contentment.

Trance Hypnosis and Will Power
Yes, it's true that most professionals who practice hypnosis would have you close your eyes. And it's also true that no one ever does anything against his/her will or anything that would be immoral. now, that's not to say that some people don't do immoral things as I'm sure you've seen others do immoral acts and they never went to a hypnotist. And yes, some will do outrageous things all on their own without the aid of a hypnotist.
So why close the eyes? The most famous hypnotist of all times, Milton Erickson, rarely had his patients close their eyes. He was the master at wakened hypnosis--giving suggestions without having one close their eyes.
You're probably wondering about trance. When you buy because of the masterful suggestions used by advertising and marketing geniuses, or when the ghetto students are motivated by the educator, or when you purchase as a result of the salesman's presentation, where's the trance?
That's the irony. Trance has no feeling. It happens the moment the analytical questioning conscious mind is bypassed to the subconscious mind resulting in a change of behavior.
Suggestions as used by Mesmer and his tub with iron rods centuries ago wouldn't work today as man has become more sophisticated and analytical. Today's man would ask, "What's this stupid tub and iron rods about anyway?" Yet, depending on the hypnotist's charisma, tubs and iron rods could be made to work. But why go to that extreme? The hypnotist would need a huge room just to house the tub when simply an improved suggestive technique will accomplish the very same thing.
The "art of suggestion" is simply to cause a change in behavior in the subject. Example: suppose there were a hundred people casually walking out the front door of a building over the course of several hours and you wanted to have as many of them as possible look upward to the sky as they exited the building. What would you do? What kind of suggestion would you use? Would you stop each person and tell them that they should look up into the sky because...?
Today's sophisticated man would question your motives and ignore you thinking you might be distracting them to take their wallet. The answer is to position yourself so that as they leave the building they will see you glancing upward. Their curiosity will cause them to accept the visual suggestion and look upward. That's hypnosis! That's trance!
Years ago I commuted to NYC from NJ via a commuter bus. Smoking was not allowed in NJ, but was allowed in NY. Soon after we'd enter the Lincoln Tunnel, one of the smokers would realize that smoking was ok and light up. Within seconds, another would light up, and another, and another--visual suggestion. Sometimes, we'd get all the way through the tunnel before the first smoker would light up. I always hoped that they'd all forget until we reached the Port Authority bus station and were off the bus.
So why do hypnotists generally have their subjects close their eyes? In reality, suggestions given with eyes wide open can be far more effective--that is if they are the right suggestions.
quite frankly, most subjects expect that hypnosis is done with eyes closed. For many years I conducted group and individual sessions for stop smoking and weight management. Both were a single session. The first portion was done with the participants in the wakened state. By the time we got around to the eye closure portion, my job was done. The eye closure was simply a relaxation that was expected by those taking the program.
most hypnotists couple relaxation with suggestion because with the experience of deep relaxation unexpected feelings of lightness, denseness, numbness, euphoria, and sometimes feelings of separateness of mind from body are experienced. Being unfamiliar with these feelings of deep relaxation, the subject simply assumes that he/she is in trance (since they feel differently than ever before) and therefore that the suggestions will work. In other words, the critical thinking mind has been bypassed because of a conclusion--actually a false conclusion, but it works for both the subject and the hypnotist.
Will power? The only will power required is to take the first step to making change and that usually is to seek help in the form of cd's or a professional.
One particular advantage of programs on cd's is that nearly a hundred hours goes into the writing, editing, production, reediting and final production resulting in the most effective scripts possible as opposed to depending on a creative spur of the moment suggestion in a live session. Once one has used a cd, then if live sessions are desired, far more progress can be made as the cds have already laid the foundation of suggestion--it's usually a matter of fine-tuning.
The important thing to know is that trance itself has no feeling and that hypnotists in general use deep relaxation to deliver suggestion because it's expected of them.
